3/4" Extreme Mats Reviews

The quality of these mats are excellent. However, when they were shipped they had the top (visiable) surface on the wood side of the pallet which left permanent wear marks on the mat. The top mat was also left exposed and at some point another pallet was placed on top and it too had permanent marks left in it. So my room had two somewhat damaged mats which made the entire room look cheap and cobbled together. I ended up buying two more mats to replace the pallet damaged ones. In another room I bought the slightly more expensive Shock mat (entirely a mistake on my part) and it is worth the extra money. It doesn’t flake off and the exposed side is much more durable. The Extreme mats made a huge mess in the room with tiny bits of rubber being sluffed off each time it was walked on. It eventually subsided but the Shock mats were better quality, slightly heavier, and were good to go from day one. Both mats I cut with a utility knife, I highly recommend getting the T-square type straight edge to help with cuts. Keep the knife sharp, start from the side facing down and avoid cutting all the way through the mat. It will take up to 4 passes depending on the thickness of your mat (mine was 3/4”). Once deep enough turn the mat over and make one clean cut from the exposed side of the mat. Your lines will be much straighter and the install will look professional.

This is a great product for a home gym. It arrived quickly and there is plenty of cushion for aerobic and weight training. It is on a concrete floor. The only complaint is that there are small flecks that stick to your clothing. The edges roll up a bit so we put weights on them to flatten. double sided carpet tape would probably work.

Purchased 1 and liked so purchased a 2nd. Have not noticed any smell or flaking as described in other reviews. They appear to be very durable and only con is they are very heavy and requires 2 people to move. Great buy. Went with this one to provide more padding and needless to say they do a great job.

I ordered three of these for my home gym in the summer. I have been using them for HIIT based workouts, power lifting, etc. and they've worked wonderfully. I don't slip on them, and they're heavy, so they don't slip on me! Would recommend these mats to anyone who wants to complete their home gym.

great product, no smell. Shipping took a month or so but once it arrived it was perfect. Arrived all rolled up so easier to transport.

Perfect! I used it as part of a deadlift platform. It cushions the eccentric phase of deadlifts as expected. Along with bumpers, it's much quieter than on concrete. I didn't notice any odor unless I was a few inches away from the mat. I left it outside for a few days, but I didn't wash it or anything. Since then it's been in my basement for a month, and I don't notice any odor unless I deliberately bend down and try to smell it. To build the platform, I got a 4'x6' mat and cut it into two 2'x3' sections, then used wood glue and wood screws to affix the mat to a 3/4″ plywood for the sides of the platform. I cut it with a box cutter. Only complaint would be the shipping/fulfillment time - over a month of waiting, but that's to be expected with COVID.

This mat did not meet my expectations. I purchased it to complete a weightlifting platform. The rubber is not dense like a horse stall mat. I can compress it with my fingers and the bottom is rough and crumbly, not smooth and flat. In hindsight I just should have purchased a horse stall mat from my local store. This was a waste of money.

These mats are commercial quality and I used them to kit out my home gym. They are thick, durable, and have almost no give. Perfect for powerlifting. Top quality. Would purchase them again!

Interesting, I ordered (2) mats a month ago (same) and these are cut about a half a inch larger. I like the quality of the mats but they do slide a little on a wood floor.

Mat is very thick. Works well with deadlifts. Bought 4 to begin with and liked them so much, I bought another 2.

Now that this plandemic has shutdown my crossfit box, I purchased my own equipment for the garage. I needed flooring that would soften the impact of my bumper plate weights ranging from 95lbs to 400lbs from bouncing, protecting and reduce impact noise. At the same time, the flooring needed to be incredibly tough. I bought two 6' x 8' x 3/4″ horse stall mats and they have worked perfectly. This product is superior to the material you can buy in a warehouse home store. Shipping costs were very high (more than the product itself), but short of that, I would encourage anyone building a home gym to consider this product.

Very durable and heavy duty, I have dropped cast iron and bumper plates on them and not a mark.

Overall the flooring is great, looks good, feels good on your feet and knees! Only thing I don’t like is that it is slippery/oily...I assume that is just because it is a petroleum based product and over time it will reduce.

I am very satisfied with this product and the service. The product was well protected arrived on time. I use this for sound absorption it makes a big deference. It is strong and thick.

The mats are well made and very useful for handling heavy weight drops.

Love the mats. Easy to install where needed. They can handle the weights used on them. Will definitely be buying more soon.
