Customer Questions

Don't see what you're looking for?
It appears that these tiles only interlock on 2 sides. How do I ensure connection across a large space? Do I need to use a 4-sided interlocking tile for spaces larger than 40 inches?
bill
Our 6.5mm Smooth Flex Tiles have interlocks on all 4 sides. Two sides have tabs that are exposed where the other side has spaces where those tabs would connect with the adjacent tile that are hidden. So essentially, this is a 4-sided interlocking tile.
I'm looking for a garage floor tile that can be used on a not perfectly smooth garage floor. I have a few chips and some rough patches. What do you recommend ?
MICHAEL FELL
If you only have a few chips and rough patches, then our 6.5mm Smooth Flex Tiles will work in y our garage. For more severe floor issues such as an uneven surface or major pitting, we recommend first leveling or patching the floor before installing these soft plastic garage tiles.
I am looking for a interlocking tile that is durable, easy to remove and reinstall during a home a long-term home renovation, looks presentable in the interior of a home, and is affordable. I saw some complaints with other flex tile floor scuffing rather easily. This would be a problem for me. Are the 6.5mm Smooth Flex Tile any better at resisting scuffing than the others? If so, to what degree and why to legitimize being double the cost? If not, what would you recommend instead that would meet the criteria I have mentioned above and perhaps be more economical?
X
Our 6.5mm Smooth Flex Tiles do not scuff easily because they do not have a silicone wear layer on top. This is why other flex tile products scuff easily; This in turn, means the tiles are not as shiny as other flex tile products. Our 6.5mm Smooth Flex tiles would be a great flooring option for your install due to the fact they are thicker than most other flex tile products and feature a unique hidden interlocking system that is stronger than most and helps to keep water from penetrating through your floor.
I am removing heavy ceramic tiles over subfloor radiant heating in a bathroom and would like to replace them with the 6.5mm Smooth Flex tiles. The house in Montana has a very low moisture content. The radiant heat change in the bathroom floor in the winter is very moderate. These tiles would float over the existing cement board. Is this a good idea?
Janis
Our 6.5mm Smooth Flex Tiles can be installed over radiant heating easily.
We have a cement garage floor that I would like to use your 6.5mm Smooth Flex Tiles with, but the floor has a slight slope to it that leads to the garage door. Will flex tiles work with a slightly uneven floor?
Josh Leonard
The tiles should work fine on a sloped floor. If there are any large areas of damage and major unevenness, however, that may be an issue.
An earlier question from "X" asked about scuffing. The response says that these tile do not scuff easily because they do not have a silicone wear layer on top. However, the Maintenance section of the product page says, "Due to each tile being coated with a protectant silicone sealant, the tiles may become scuffed or scratched during the installation process or while moving large objects. To help reduce the appearance of scratches or scuff marks we recommend using Armstrong’s Shine Keeper." Are these 6.5mm Smooth Flex Tiles silicone coated or not?
Anonymous
Our 6.5mm Smooth Flex Tiles do not have a protectant silicone layer.
Can this flooring be used in a commercial kitchen
Anonymous
Depending on the regulations in your city, county, or state, our 6.5mm Smooth Flex Tiles can be used in a commercial kitchen.
Do these tiles insulate at all? I want to add them over a concrete garage floor that is used as a living space and hope to add a little warmth during the winter.
SG
Our 6.5mm Smooth Flex Tiles will help to insulate against sound and cold. These tiles are non-porous and interlock very tightly.
As there are no “edge pieces, how do I accomplish smooth edges all around? Used foam ones before and they have a strip that interlocks at edges.
Randi
Our 6.5mm Smooth Flex Tiles have a hidden interlocking system that allows for a clean finish around the tile. If you come to a wall where the tabs are exposed, all you would have to do is cut them with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge.
How well do these hold up against black marks from tires? I've seen similar tiles that have black marks from tires and the black marks do not come off with any cleaning method. How do these hold up with a car parked on them for most of the day?
Bill
Our 6.5mm Smooth Flex Tiles will be affected by certain tires just like any other soft plastic garage floor tile. This is caused by a chemical reaction that happens between the tires and the flooring. The only way you can get around this is to place black tiles in the area where you will park your car. Not all tires cause this issue. Typically you will only see this with performance tires, but there is potential to see this with any type of tire.
My garage is on the side of our house. As such, we do not pull straight in and straight out of our garage. Will "some" turning of the wheels cause any significant or noticeable stress or buckling of the tiles?
Gary
These tiles will perform fine with some turning of the wheels.
