Don't see what you're looking for?
I can't tell the difference between impact straight cut and impact mats except for the large price difference the descriptions are the same. What is the difference?
Melissa Wheeler
Our Impact Straight Cut Mats and the Impact Mats are the same. The only difference is the shipping charge. The Impact Mats offer free shipping which is ideal for smaller orders less than four mats. If you are ordering more than four mats, we recommend purchasing the Impact Straight Cut Mats.
I live on the second floor of an old apartment building. I am looking for something that will reduce noise/vibration/etc. when doing Insanity/plyometric workouts so that I can use it without disturbing the neighbors below me. Would this be effective in that capacity?
Lauren
Our Impact Mats will help to reduce the noise generated when doing these exercises, but are not as durable as out other mats for these exercises. This mat is made to be less dense than our standard rubber mats, which is ideal for plyometric workouts. For more intense workouts, we recommend using our Premium Mats.
Can this be rolled and kept away when not in use? I am planning to use it in the living room for exercise but do not want to leave it on the floor all the time.
Padma
Our Impact Mats can be rolled for storage easily.
My impact mat got a small tear in it. Is there anyway to repair it?
Kelly
If you get a tear in your floor, you can use our seam sealer to bind the floor back together.
If mounted vertically, would these mats help to lessen the impact and rebound of a thrown baseball?
Anonymous
Our Impact Mats, when mounted on a wall, would help to lessen the impact and rebound of a thrown baseball. They are meant to absorb impact and diffuse it. There will still be some rebound, but it will be greatly diminished compared to a concrete wall.
Is it safe to double stack the impact mats on top of each other to provide additional shock absorption?
Ed Calhoon
You can stack our Impact Mats on top of each other to provide more shock absorption. To keep them in place, we recommend using double-sided tape between the mats.
Can these mats be used to drop rubber olympic plates safely from shoulder height or overhead?
Mike
You can use our Impact Mats to drop rubber Olympic plates. No matter the height, these mats will help to deaden the impact on your subfloor.
I own a salon, and I need rubber flooring that hair color and bleach will not stain. Will this work?
joe pergola
Our Impact Mats, may not be the best solution for a full room floor but would work great as standing mats around salon chairs. These rubber mats are somewhat porous, so to make them ideal for a salon, we would recommend sealing these mats with our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer. This will help to fill in the pores on the floor and make cleaning a breeze. The rubber floor sealer will need to be reapplied a couple of times a year, depending on how often the mats are used. To clean them, you would just sweep away any large dirt and debris and then mop the mats with a mild soap and water solution.
Can a woman easily roll up for storage?
david
Our Impact Mats are pretty light-weight and can be easily rolled up by anyone.
Can it be used as a dance subfloor for Irish dance? In other words, the impact mat and then marley over top of it. Or is it too soft?
Our Impact Mats can be used as a dance subfloor. These mats are less dense than our standard rubber flooring but are made from the same rubber material used as underlayment under dance floor surfaces and basketball courts.
Can you attach mats together?
Laura
You can use double-sided tape or our Seam Sealer glue to connect multiple Impact Mats together.
Would these mats indent & wear with having heavy equipment (squat rack, Olympic weight, weight bench, etc)? Interested in the impact aspect for plyometric exercises but wondering if I need a different mat for heavy equipment?
MT
If you place heavy equipment over our Impact Mats, they will indent from the weight of the equipment. If the heavy equipment is left on the floor for a long period of time like months or years, the indents can become permanent. To prevent this, we recommend placing furniture sliders under the equipment.
Good for on the ground exercising and weight lifting?
Angela Deitch
Our Impact Mats are great for floor exercises and high impact workouts. You can use weights on them. These rubber mats are very shock absorbent making them very good on the joints when performing certain moves.
What size is the impact mats? All I see is the thickness and the color, do they come in different sizes?
Shannon Barisoff
Our Impact Mats are 4' x 6' in size.
How thick is the Impact Mat?
ofer samra
Our Impact Mats are 3/8" thick.
I'm looking for a plyometric workout surface at least 6'x8' that would withstand cutting movements side-to-side. I worry that if I just put two of these mats together, they would slip apart. Do you have any solutions for this, or is there another mat you'd recommend? Thanks!
Dan
To keep our Impact Mats from moving when doing lateral or side-to-side exercises, we recommend placing double-sided tape under the mats to keep them in place.
Can the impact mats be placed safely over carpets for workouts? I'm worried about damaging the carpet underneath while providing a solid surface to work out on.
Julie
The mat would be fine for use over carpet. If you want to put down a tarp between the two to protect against any sort of transmission, you can do that.
How do I get rid of the rubber smell of the impact mat?
Lorraine Hill
The best way to rid your Impact Mats of the rubber smell is to first mop your mat with a mild soap and water solution. Make sure you use a synthetic mop head when mopping the mat. You will then want to let your mat air dry. Make sure you place the mat in a well-ventilated room or outdoors. Once the mat is dry, you can check to see if the smell has dissipated; if not, repeat the steps above until you are satisfied with the smell of your new rubber mat.
