We are wanting to put these in a home gym that currently has Berber carpet. Can we install these over the Berber? Thanks!
cindy walden
Our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles can be installed over the Berber carpet.
Does the "3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles " come with edge pieces? The web page does not show any if it does.
Tom
Our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles do not come with any edge pieces. To create a finished edge on these tiles you can cut them or you can use our Rubber Floor Ramps.
One of the reviews mentions a wax on the tile that has to be removed? What is that in reference too?
Helene Buchin
There is a film that can be found on our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles that occurs from the manufacturing process. This film can be easily removed with our Rubber Floor Cleaner and Degreaser.
Does the rubber have a very strong odor?
Helene Buchin
Our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles are virtually odorless because they are made from virgin rubber. The smell that emanates from these tiles is similar to a new shoe.
Can virgin rubber tiles be installed on top of a wood porch?
jerome johnson
Our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles can be installed on top of a wood porch. These tiles are non-porous and will not allow water to pass through them. Water would be able to flow through the cracks around the interlocks if they are not interlocked tightly. Since these tiles are made from rubber, they are weather-resistant and mold and mildew resistant. The only issue you made run into with these tiles is that they fade in direct sunlight due to them not being UV stable.
I need an interlocking tile for pool surfaces. I prefer NOT to have concrete or stone pavers but a rubber paver would be OK. I am basically looking to resurface my concrete pool and patio with another surface I can clean each year or periodically replace. I know mold and mildew will have to be dealt with since I am in Tennessee with 65 inches of rain per year.

Our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles wouldn't be the best flooring option for this area as the flooring is not porous and would allow water to pool on its surface. If you want to use rubber flooring, we would suggest using one of our Outdoor Rubber Pavers. These rubber pavers are made for outdoor use and are semi-porous allowing water to properly drain from the flooring surface. Rubber is great as a flooring option around pools as it is very slip resistant and more slip-resistant when wet. You won't have to worry about mold and mildew growth as these tiles are resistant. These paver tiles are also very easy to clean and maintain and can be replaced as need be. The only thing you may notice with some of our outdoor pavers is that they are UV resistant and can change color in direct sunlight over time. If you want to avoid this issue, just look for products that are UV stable.
Do these mats contain phthalates and/or heavy metals?
Jim
Our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles are very safe and do not contain any phthalates or heavy metals. If you would like a copy of the MSDS for this product, please feel free to reach out to one of our Flooring Heroes via phone, chat, or email and they will be able to assist further.
