Can you use this over carpeting?
Julia R Hall
You can install our 12mm Elderwood Waterproof Laminate flooring over commercial carpet very easily. If installing over a high pile, thick padded carpet, we recommend placing a 1/4" plywood board to be placed over the carpet and the laminate over that. This will ensure your flooring does not separate when the pad underneath depresses.
Would I be able to glue down the laminate floor if I want to install as a non-floating floor? I have the uniclik 12 mm thick planks.
Sandra
These products are not suitable to glue down because they still need room to expand and contract in different climates through out the year.
Are you able to cut the pieces to fit it the way you want?
Donna
You can cut our 12mm Elderwood Waterproof Laminate with a table saw with a laminate blade or with one of our floor tile cutters.
Does installation require the use of transitions in doorways with a continuous flooring installation? meaning all rooms are getting the same flooring installed
Jessica
With continuous flooring installations there is not a need for T-Molding transitions and transitions are not traditionally installed. Sometimes they are used when the gap under the door needs to be smaller, but this is more or less just for aesthetics.
We have radiant heat in our basement floors. Can we install this laminate over it?
Margie D
Yes, Mohawk Elderwood Laminate can be installed over radiant heat. Laminate is a great choice for radiant heating because it retains heat well.
Removing carpet...Can this be installed over particle board?
Yes, Elderwood Laminate can be installed over a particle board subfloor. You would just need to ensure that the surface is clean and level and then you can install with whatever installation method you'd like to install with.
