Should I put anything between the laminate and the rubber floor to prevent any damage to the laminate?

You don't have to place anything between our 1/2" Rubber Gym Tiles when installing them over laminate flooring. If you are concerned about any staining, you can place a plastic sheet between the rubber tiles and laminate.
