Does the rubber flooring expand in the heat? If so, what is the expansion rate and are there guidelines to accommodate such expansion? I have used the typical puzzle rubber flooring in the past, and the expansion would ruin the floor.
If you install our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls in a space that is not temperature controlled, you will want to make sure that you have ample room around the flooring for expansion and contraction. We recommend leaving at least a 3/8" gap between the flooring and wall. This will allow the flooring to expand and contract properly. There are no real parameters for when the flooring will expand and contract, but if there is a large temperature change during the day or night, the flooring will respond accordingly.
