I just bought a house and the backyard is a concrete slab with some decent, but not major cracks in it. how will this affect installation?

You can install our Flagstone Rubber Pavers over concrete that is not perfect. As long the concrete is fairly flat, you will have no problems with installing the tiles over it. If there are major deviations in height, then you will need to repair the concrete first before installing the tiles.
