If I am not worried about color fade, will the dance floor kits work outside for 4-6 months at a time?

The only issue would be that since the wood surface is a vinyl print layer, it's possible that the adhesive could overheat in the sun and cause the vinyl layer to move around or detach from the base of the tiles. You can apply further adhesive as need be to keep the wood print layer down.
