We have a screened porch 8’ x 12’ with 2x6 wood boards for the floor. The floor is very similar to that of a regular wooden deck. The gaps between boards are about 1/8” to 1/4”. We would clean the floor well, first. Would the peel and stick carpet tiles work ok when installed directly to the wood floor? Or would we need some sort of underlayment over the boards? If so, what options would work for that? Thank you!
You should be able to use these tiles directly over your wood floor but you may experience indentations where there are gaps between the wood. Use of a rubber underlayment such as our 5mm Pre-Cut Rubber Underlayment would minimize those surface indentations.
