I am proposing to install this 3/8 roll over radiant heat tubing. The tubing is inserted in 3/4" grooved plywood and I did not plan to cover it. When the tubing is inserted into the plywood it is flush with the top. Can this flooring be rolled directly over the recessed tubing or do I need a completely flush surface in which case I would need to install a thin sheet of lauan or 1/4 plywood. I can send a picture of the subfloor if that is helpful to facilitate a positive installation. Mike h.
It's generally recommended to have a completely flush surface before installing it to ensure a smooth and even surface. If the tubing is recessed, it could cause an uneven surface and result in damage to the flooring when it is rolled over the tubing. Using a thin sheet of lauan or 1/4 inch plywood can help create a smooth and even surface. This will also provide a stable base for the flooring and help protect the tubing from being damaged by the weight of the flooring material.
