would you recommend this padding under carpet squares

We do not recommend traditional carpet padding under carpet tiles as soft padding can cause the edges of the tiles to come up. Instead, try our Smart Squares, which have attached padding (https://www.flooringinc.com/searchresults.aspx#stq=smart%20squares&stp=1), use a dense underlayment such as rubber for padding, or simply apply carpet tiles directly to your subfloor.
