Are these tiles suitable for an outdoor play area for a toddler? Is the material very hard? I would be placing these over cement, anything to avoid lots of scraped knees for my 18 month old !

Our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles can be used in outdoor play areas but since they're made from hard plastic, they may be a little hard for the kid. Our Soft Flex Tiles would be a better option for you since those are made of a softer material. We also offer playground tiles that are designed for use on playgrounds and are made of rubber, so will be softer.
