How far out does the flare at the very bottom extend? I am wondering if this will cover a small gap between the rubber flooring and the wall as a baseboard.

The toe on the bottom of the Duracove 2.5" x 3.2mm x 120' Rubber Wall Base is 5/8" wide. This will help to cover any gapping between your wall and the floor.
