I am considering the 8mm flooring for an elevated outdoor covered deck. It would be laid over 3/4" plywood. I have been told that it wasn't a good idea. The claims are that such flooring absorbs heat, becoming very hot, off-gases and smells like old tires, cracks and breaks apart making it difficult to clean. To what degree are any of these claims accurate? If such flooring isn't appropriate can you recommend a better choice?
