We have a slate kitchen floor which we found that if a jar falls from a cabinet it will crack. To protect this new floor from cracking could this rubber runner be placed unglued down the middle of the elongated kitchen and protect the floor from cracks. Can the runner be wiped off in case of spills? Can it be trimmed? How thick is the rubber runner?
