Would you consider this a low VOC (volatile organic compounds) rubber tile? Also, what kind of rubber does this use?

Our 1/2" Rubber Gym Tiles wouldn't be considered low VOC. A smell mitigant is used in these rubber tiles to keep the smell down, but there is still a rubber smell. This rubber smell can be mitigated by mopping the floor with a mild soap and water solution with a synthetic mophead. You also will want to make sure there is plenty of ventilation in the space where you are installing our Rubber Gym Tiles, and you may need to repeat the mopping part a few times to get the smell truly mitigated. Our Rubber Gym Tiles are vulcanized rubber tiles that are made from the treads of commercial truck tires.
