If used in a covered kennel, would the mat get hot to dogs feet? Also does it hold urine smell?

Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls won't get that hot if covered and not in direct sunlight. They will actually be cooler than concrete. These rubber rolls are semi-porous and are very easy to clean. To make these rolls non-porous, we recommend using our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer and our Seam Sealer to create a homogeneous floor. The sealer will fill in the pores, and the seam sealer will keep any urine or other liquids from seeping to the subfloor below. If you don't seal the floor, a dog could urinate on the floor, and the urine would not immediately get in the pores. So if you clean up the urine pretty quickly, you can help to mitigate any issues with urine smells. If urine does get in the floor, we recommend cleaning the floor with our Rubber Floor Cleaner and Degreaser and flushing the floor with a lot of water. This will help to keep the urine smell down.
