I am converting a bedroom into a gym and need mats to go over hardwood (bamboo) floors. Will the rubber rub off onto the wood or otherwise damage it/the wood finish? Is there an underlayment you'd recommend? I'm worried about pressure from the equipment on top of the mats and warping to the wood caused by trapping moisture or preventing the wood from breathing.

You can install our 4' x 6' Premium Mats over a hardwood floor without damaging or staining it. If you were concerned with the mats damaging the flooring, we recommend placing a plastic sheet under the mats to add further protection. If you are concerned about water getting under the mats, the plastic sheet will help protect the flooring and ensure water doesn't get trapped between the mats the floor. You wouldn't need an underlay under our Premium Mats. A plastic sheet would be all we recommend.
