8mm Remnant rubber rolls are easy to keep clean and maintain. Maintenance of this rolled rubber flooring typically involves:
  • Vacuuming any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the rolled rubber floor surface when necessary.
  • Occasional damp mopping of the Remnant rolls with a mild soap and water solution. A few recommended soaps are Dawn dish detergent or Tide laundry detergent.
Note: Do not use any solvent or oil style cleaners such as Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy’s Oil Soap, WD40, paint thinner, etc. since these types of cleaners will break down the flooring over time.

When installing rolled rubber flooring, it is recommended that you use some kind of adhesive to prevent the rolls from moving around or sliding apart between adjacent rolls. The most common methods of adhering rubber rolls to the sub floor are:

A: Double Sided Tape Installation
  • First you will want to clean your sub floor so that it is free of all dust, dirt, and debris.
  • Loose lay your rolls in the room as you would like them to look after a complete installation. Let the rolls relax for up to 24-48 hours to ensure proper installation of your new flooring.
  • Note: Rolls may be directional so make sure the color matches on each roll. If the roll colors do not match, flip them or turn them 180 degrees to ensure color matches.
  • Make any necessary cuts to the rolls to fit them into the room using a Straight Edge and a Utility Knife with a fresh blade.
  • Apply double sided tape to perimeter of each roll.
  • Place rubber rolls back into position on top of the double sided tape.

  • B: Glue Installation
    • First clean your sub floor so that it is free of all dirt, dust and debris. Also, when gluing your flooring down, it is recommended that the sub floor is free of any moisture.
    • Loose lay your rolls in the room as you would like them to look after a complete installation. Let the rolls relax for up to 24-48 hours to ensure proper installation of your new flooring.

    • Make any necessary cuts to the rolls to fit them into the room using a Straight Edge and a Utility Knife with a fresh blade.
    • Roll up the rolls at one end of the room. Put down a 10 foot long light layer of polyurethane adhesive and unroll 10 of the flooring into the adhesive at a time.
    • Repeat this step for every 10 feet of roll length until the entire roll has been unrolled into it desired position.
    • After all rolls have been glued down, it is often recommended to use a 100 pound roller on the floor in order to guarantee good adherence to the sub floor. If a roller is not available, walking on the flooring in small choppy steps may also work.

Can this be used outside?
wayne wagner
Our 8mm Rubber Roll Remnants can be used outdoors. These rolls are made from recycled tires and would be able to withstand the elements. The only thing that you may notice is that there may be some fading in direct sunlight over time. Rubber is naturally mold and mildew resistant, so those would be of no concern.
Can rubber floor be used in a basement with radiant floor heat?
You can install our 8mm Rubber Roll Remnants over a radiant heated floor. Since rubber flooring is insulating, you will not get the benefits of the radiant heat as you would from a porous floor like tile.
Is this material porous? Will it absorb my dog's pee if I don't wipe it up right away.
Ken
Our 8mm Rubber Roll Remnants aren't fully porous, and any dog pee would sit on top of the rubber for a long period before getting into the floor. To ensure that pee and other liquids don't get in the floor, we recommend using our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer. This will fill in the pores ensuring nothing will get in your new flooring.
Is this product recommended for basements?
Anonymous
You can use our 8mm Rubber Remnants in a basement. Our rubber rolls are resistant to mold and mildew growth and are also water resistant. These rolls are also very slip resistant when wet. Cleaning of our rubber rolls is a breeze. Just sweep up any large dirt and debris with a broom and mop any stuck on dirt and debris with a sponge mop and a mild soap and water solution. You would then let the flooring air dry.
What is the difference between remnant and regular 8 mm product aside from color?
karen
Our 8mm Rubber Roll Remnants are either overruns of flooring, returns, or flooring that does not meet the standards that we have in place for our standard line. Some examples of issues that would meet our standard flooring standards are inconsistent coloring, wrong coloring, slight manufacturing imperfections, and the like. Our remnant material is just as durable standard flooring line, just not as pretty as our standard line.
What is the diameter of a 25' roll?
The diameter of our 25' rolls in our 8mm Rubber Roll Remnants is about 14" x 14".
Are rubber rolls recommended as garage floors?
JOSEPH Ronald BUTLER
You can use our 8mm Rubber Roll Remnants as garage flooring. These rolls would be heavy enough to stay in place when a car is driven over them. They are also durable enough to withstand the weight of a car without indenting or getting damaged. The only thing that will affect them is oil. So if your car drips oil, you will notice over time some damage to the rubber roll in the area where the oil has dripped. If you do have this issue, you can place an Auto Floor Guard mat under your vehicle, or you can use one of our Nitro Rolls under your car.

I had an excellent experience purchasing this roll of rubber flooring for my home gym. The folks at the HQ in the Phoenix area were fantastic! The flooring itself fits my home gym perfectly and works great!

The rubber floor rolls were perfect to cover my basement floor for use as a home gym. Multiple rolls lined up side by side nicely and do not move around at all.
